Our Pastors

Pastors Mark and Amanda Childers

Mark and Amanda both grew up as pastor’s kids, and they both came to know Jesus as their personal savior at an early age.

Mark and Amanda met in Greenville in 1993 when her father introduced them. On their very first date, Mark shared that he felt called to be a pastor. Amanda responded, “I feel called to be a missionary.” That shared sense of purpose became the foundation of their relationship. They dated through Amanda’s senior year of high school and throughout her college years, eventually marrying in Greenville in 1997. They began their life together in Belton, SC, but soon moved to Greer to be closer to their church community.

In 2006, they sensed God calling them to something new—away from family, a great job, and their beloved church—to Largo, Florida. Two years later, God led them to Bradenton, FL, where they found a life-giving church home. After another two years, they stepped into full-time ministry, joining the church staff to help launch its first satellite campus—a dream come true for them.

For nearly 14 years, Mark and Amanda served faithfully as campus pastors. But as time passed, they began to feel a shift and sensed their season there was coming to a close. They made the difficult decision to resign and partnered with another couple to launch a nonprofit focused on bridging the gap between the American church and global missions.

Seven months into that journey in 2025, God began stirring a new dream in their hearts: to move back home to Greenville, SC to start a family focused, Spirit-filled church. In June 2025, they transitioned out of the nonprofit to pursue this calling fully—gathering a team and preparing to launch Generations Church.
